NASA's Perseverance Rover Finds Rock the Shape of a "Doughnut" on Mars
Is someone eating Krispy Kreme on Mars? The Mars Perseverance rover has captured an image of a rock on the red planet's surface that looks JUST like a doughnut. The “doughnut” was first spotted on June 14 by the SuperCam Remote Micro-Image, one of the rover's cameras. It was located in the Jezero Crater's delta. Although the rover's purpose is to collect rock samples for a possible return to Earth, the Perseverance team hasn’t yet directed the rover to go for a closer look.
