What is Twisted Graphene? - Vimarsana News

What is Twisted Graphene?

In 2018, MIT researchers discovered that they could induce superconductivity in graphene by stacking two layers of the atom-thick material at a precise 1.1 ° angle.

Physicists discover "secret sauce" behind exotic properties of a new quantum material | MIT News

Physicists have discovered the “secret sauce” behind some of the exotic properties of a new quantum material that has transfixed physicists due to those properties, which include superconductivity. The new work on a superconducting kagome metal will aid design of other unusual quantum materials, with many potential applications.

"Guided vortex motion and critical current density enhancement in super" by Antony N. Jones - Vimarsana News

"Guided vortex motion and critical current density enhancement in super" by Antony N. Jones

Continual improvements to superconducting devices is a fundamental requirement for optimised operation. Using a variety of contrastingly shaped, relatively large 2–5 µm fully (antidot-AD) and partially etched (blind) holes, the Jc of YBCO thin films has been effectively increased. The enhancement to Jc is present within the relatively narrow band of wall surfaces of ADs, independent of whether patterns were ADs or the blind AD type. Independence of AD types indicates that enhancement is insensitive whether magnetic flux is inside the ADs, or vortices are inside the blind holes. Within this ...
