Southeastern Pennsylvania suburban schools with larger proportions of Black and Hispanic students are not only underfunded by the state but the effect of that shortfall results in lower levels of minority student achievement, according to a recently released report. The report, titled No More Dreams Deferred, also found that Black and Hispanic students are disproportionately suspended and disciplined through law enforcement than their white classmates in the suburban districts. Public Citizens for Children and Youth released the report, which examines the 61 school districts in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties and found that schools have a hard time meeting the needs of diverse students. ....

I m relieved to have that done and out of the way, Schulenberg says. I didn t have any trouble with this. I didn t even feel it which was a relief. She s getting the shot to protect her newborn at home and her students in the classroom. ....
Vassalboro community wants more in-person learning, teachers want to stay hybrid Vassalboro Community School Principal Megan Allen said the survey results showed we are not happy with how remote learning is going. Share VASSALBORO Those involved with the Vassalboro Community School overwhelmingly believe the school is safe, but the community and teachers differ on their stances on hybrid learning versus fully in-person learning. The Vassalboro School board convened Tuesday night and discussed a plan for spending additional coronavirus relief funding and remote learning. Board members also examined results of a survey where 234 individuals, or 60% of the community, responded. Vassalboro Community School Principal Megan Allen reported that 73.3% of the community and 71% of the staff strongly agreed or agreed that the school is safe. ....

At Monday night s board of director s meeting, it was decided that students would learn remotely Jan. 4-6 before the hybrid model of learning re-starts that Thursday and Friday. The Warrior Run hybrid model has all students learning virtually on Mondays, followed by alternating in-person attendance for the rest of the week. Superintendent Alan Hack noted that the idea behind remote learning for Jan. 4-6 had to do with being cautious after a holiday â he made reference to the uptick in COVID positives in the area after Thanksgiving. ....
