Riverside County Third District Supervisor Chuck Washington is under quarantine on Monday after being exposed to someone infected with COVID-19.
Washington began his isolation on Wednesday after being notified that he had come into contact the day prior with a person infected with coronavirus, the supervisor’s chief of staff, Michelle DeArmond, wrote in an email.
“It’s important to note that Supervisor Washington has been fully vaccinated for months but quarantine was still recommended,” DeArmond said. “He takes the virus seriously.”
She said Washington was tested for COVID-19 Monday morning. ....

ACLU, others file federal complaints over Riverside County use of CARES Act funds
Three advocacy groups have filed complaints with federal oversight agencies alleging the Riverside County Sheriff s Department
misused pandemic relief funds for an office makeover with the approval of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
The supervisors unanimously voted in favor of the three expenditures of CARES Act funds during two separate meetings in May and June amounting to about $4.7 million for a variety of expenses that the groups, including the ACLU, say violate the guidelines for how the federal funds can be spent.
