This year, organisations in Sutton have come together to make carers visible between June 7 and 13. With many unpaid carers facing challenges, partners across Sutton want to raise awareness of the contributions they make to their families and the community. Sutton Council and Carers Centre said that this week is an opportunity for people to access support and services available to them. We all have a part to play in ensuring our carers know that they are seen and heard, said Carer Champion and Councillor Chris Williams. In the UK, there are an estimated 13.6 million people who are carers - looking after friends or family members who have a disability, mental or physical illness, or are needing additional support as they grow older. ....
