Manchester police urge unidentified male victims of serial rapist to get in touch Josh Halliday North of England correspondent Detectives are trying to trace more than 60 men they believe were victims of Reynhard Sinaga, the man described as Britain’s most prolific rapist. Sinaga, 38, is serving a minimum of 40 years in jail after being convicted of committing 159 offences, including 136 rapes, against dozens of men in Manchester. The Indonesia-born student was jailed for offences against 48 different men but police believe his total number of victims to be 206. Greater Manchester police said on Thursday that it was still trying to trace 60 more men, so far unidentified, believed to have been abused by Sinaga, who pretended to be a good Samaritan to lure often-drunk young men to his flat from outside city centre nightclubs. ....
Verdict in Oswaldtwistle murder trial could be returned on Monday The jury in a murder trial have been told to return to court on Monday when a judge will direct them to consider their verdict after two weeks of hearing evidence at Preston Crown Court. On Friday, judge Suzanne Goddard finished summing up the evidence in the case, and directed jurors to consider what they had heard, but to return on Monday when she would officially send them to deliberate. Last year, Nathan Williams, 31, of Mount Pleasant Street, Oswaldtwistle, was charged with the murder of 65-year-old Stuart Newton, after he was attacked outside a house in Worsley Court on February 12. ....
Murder trial of man killed in Oswaldtwistle flat begins at Preston Crown Court The murder trial over the death of a 65-year-old man who was found in his flat with head injuries is set to begin today. Stuart Newton was found in his Oswaldtwistle home on Thursday February 13 2020, but died in hospital the following day. A 30-year-old man was charged with his murder and will appear at Preston Crown Court today. Police were called to the property, in Worsley Court, around lunchtime, and found Mr Newton with serious head injuries He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but died from his injuries on Friday February 14. ....
Duchy Road and a machete A KNIFEMAN who was badly injured when his bike was struck by a car in a hit and run, tried to hide the machete he was carrying. As Garikai Gwayagwaya lay in a garden with a severely broken leg and back injuries he shoved the weapon under a fence, burying it under soil, before the emergency services arrived. But he was spotted by a witness and, after initially claiming the machete had been a present he had bought for his father, 25-year-old Gwayagwaya, of Mount Pleasant Road, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in a public place. ....
