A young fin whale that beached itself Sunday just north of the Indian River Inlet was not expected to survive the night, according to officials from the Marine Education, Research
Following a necropsy, the whale will be buried on the beach.
The animal’s appearance “indicates a long-term underlying condition,” experts said.
