Particularly interested in this story but i think america, not just america, the world is interested. bbc is reporting more traffic to its website because of this than any other story since the japanese tsunami. it, what we have to focus on i think, if anything has not received enough coverage, 12 years after 9/11, it is still possible for a plane like this to disappear, for a couple of pilots to turn switches and a plane to disappear off the radar. the skies are still not safe enough. we haven t done enough on counterterrorism. jon: right. because on 9/11, those hijacked airliners, the hijackers, all turned off the transponders so that nobody was able to track those flights as they were inbound to the world trade center and pentagon. exactly. that just shouldn t be possible 12 years after 9/11. what have we learned? whale we concentrate on aliens stealing the plane or the depth of the indian ocean we should be looking at why did the ....

The airplane for four years and now retired said he s never been down there. is that right? because there s no real need for us to be down there. there s one circumstance that i would go down there and that s simply after an incident there s a diagram on where to pull a particular circuit breaker like what s being pointed out here. if there was a fire on board or smoke, is that part of the procedure to turn circuit breakers off? turn off the in flight system, to turn off the acars? it wouldn t be to go down those steps to do it. it would be something that s done in the cockpit. we have circuit breakers in the overhead panel that might help perform that. most of that are switches as opposed to circuit breakers. that would be a troubleshooting process. if we had a fire situation our objective toys get the airplane on the ground as quickly as possible. john, can you show some of the other systems down there. depressurizing, some of the other things that are possible to look at? ....

Your phones, blackberry, iphone, land line on one. it will suck all the information out of your cell phones and this will light up and tell you who s calling and from what number they re calling. under 60 bucks. a great idea. yeah. finally from sete kichki, ten-p hub. in the side there are nine hubs out here. can you turn them on and off with these little switches. this little side hub has enough power to charge an ipad. so, you could actually use this like you could just have this near your computer. that s absolutely right. as a matter of fact, i saw a big piece of adhesive, double-stick in the box. if you didn t have this and you wanted to put this on the side of your computer, you could do it and there would be easy to get to. awesome stuff as always. our thanks to twit.tv s dick debartolo, you ll find more on ....

And that s very important. true. and even though i might be a little more intimate with the systems on the airplane, this is not an intimate part of my knowledge. as a pilot this is not a place that i view. a friend of mine after being on the airplane for four years and now retired said he s never been down there. is that right? because there s no real need for us to be down there. there s one circumstance that i would go down there and that s simply after an incident there s a diagram on where to pull a particular circuit breaker like what s being pointed out here. if there was a fire on board or smoke, is that part of the procedure to turn circuit breakers off? turn off the in flight system, to turn off the acars? it wouldn t be to go down those steps to do it. it would be something that s done in the cockpit. we have circuit breakers in the overhead panel that might help perform that. most of that are switches as opposed to circuit breakers. that would be a troublesh ....
