Take Two Interactive has acquired video game developer Gearbox, the maker of the "Borderlands" franchise, from Embracer Group for $460 million.
While Embracer Group has sold the majority of its previous studios and games from Gearbox Entertainment to Take-Two Interactive, it revealed today it has kept a few studios and games for itself.
At least three employees and "countless others" have been let go from the Borderlands studio as it's preparing to jump ship over to Take-Two.
