Mobile vaccination centres will boost efforts to inoculate 500,000 traders in Malaysia, says Zuraida

JOHOR BARU: Mobile vaccination centres under the Community Vaccine Mobilisation (Movak) programme will boost efforts to vaccinate some 500,000 traders nationwide.
Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said that Movak was an initiative introduced by her ministry and the National Unity Ministry to expedite the process of vaccinating people, especially in rural communities.
"We have discussed with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) and received their approval to use Movak's logistics and support system to help vaccinate traders and small business owners.
"There are almost 500,000 such businesses registered under local authorities nationwide with about 34,000 in Johor," she said, adding that the initiative would start on July 6.

Delivery of extra vaccines for Johoreans working in S'pore should go on even if border is not reopened yet, says MB

JOHOR BARU: The timeframe for the reopening of the Malaysia-Singapore border should not affect the extra allocation of Covid-19 vaccine for those who work in the island republic, says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.
Hasni said the state government would continue to follow up with the Science, Innovation and Technology Ministry (Mosti) to ensure that the vaccine would be allocated regardless of when the border is open again.
“Mosti agreed to allocate an extra 100,000 doses to Johor for those who want to travel back and forth between Johor and Singapore once the border has reopened.
“The state government will continue requesting that Mosti proceeds with this plan whether or not the border reopens anytime soon, ” he told a press conference after visiting a vaccine distribution centre at Taman Adda Heights here on Thursday (April 29).
