In response to complaints about graphic anti-abortion flyers Airdrie’s city council unanimously approved changes to restrict how they can be distributed, similar to a move made by City of Calgary council.
The census, conducted from April 1 to June 15, 2023, was the first one since 2019, as the coronavirus pandemic had prevented its execution. Instead, the province had relied on estimated population counts for allocating grant dollars in 2020 after repealing the census regulation.
