Young riders were taking advantage of a cool fall day Wednesday to enjoy the pump track at Tannery Knobs Bike Park in Johnson City. Stretching more than 40 acres, the park features trails with a variety of different skill levels for biking enthusiasts. The bike park also offers a bird’s eye view of the city’s Memorial Park Community Center.

Mountain biking event to be held in Johnson City

Riders of all ages will have an opportunity to try out their mountain biking skills on Saturday and help raise awareness of a new bicycle playground being developed in Johnson City by cycling enthusiasts and area Rotary Clubs. “Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day” is a free event that will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the tentative site of a bicycle playground at the corner of State of Franklin Road and Legion Street.
