Christmas. patti ann: if they are allowed to expire, what might happen next year? well, i think they are going to end up expiring because i think that both sides have dug in too far, so what i predict will happen, not that i ve always been right, but what i think will happen is that the new congress that s going to take office in january, the congress elected in the most recent election, will then work with the president on a compromise and will see all income tax brackets with an extension. it may be just for a limited amount of time, a couple of years, three or four years, and they ll make it retroactive so that nobody actually ended up losing any money. but i just, i think it s going to be hard for both sides to come together between now and christmas because the political lines are really tough, the president has vilified tax cuts for, you know, the wealthy, and it s going to make it hard for him to back away from that, and republicans are simply not going to back away from it. p ....
