If you thought it was unseasonably warm the past few days, the records agree.
The Dillon weather station saw record high temperatures for three days in a row, and while things are expected to cool off a bit for the rest of the week, National Weather Service meteorologist David Barjenbruch said temps will remain above normal for this time of year.
2021 is the new record-holder for the maximum high temperature on April 4 at 61 degrees, April 5 at 62 degrees and April 6 at 62 degrees. The Dillon weather station reports temperature data each morning for the past 24 hours, so the temperature for April 6 refers to data collected from the morning of April 5 through the morning of April 6.
House of Vibes, a new coffee shop in Silverthorne, is full of not only coffee but also trinkets like insects in resin, crystals and plants.
Co-owner Zack Turner said the High Country Healing dispensary previously used the space for medical marijuana sales, but as sales declined, the owners decided to turn the space into a coffee shop. Turner, Joe Pepe and Nick Brown opened House of Vibes on March 1.
“We were thinking about a hospitality lounge, like a smoking cafe,” Turner said. “Silverthorne didn’t pass that, but we also agreed that it would be more fun to just have a coffee shop. Joe Pepe and I are both big into curiosities, so we saw a niche market in town for this type of thing where you can’t really get these items too many other places. So we wanted to open up a space for people to come and hang out and find something that they might not have known they were looking for.”

Alterra Mountain Co. has released pricing for the 2021-22 Ikon Pass, which went on sale Thursday, March 11.
The full Ikon Pass will continue to offer skiers and riders unlimited access to Copper Mountain Resort with seven days at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in Summit County. There are no blackout dates on the Ikon Pass, which includes access to 41 destinations outside of Summit County, including Eldora Mountain Resort, Steamboat Resort and Winter Park Resort in Colorado.
Alterra is offering existing passholders a renewal discount of up to $100 on all 2021-22 adult and young adult Ikon passes purchased before May 5. Among pass products that increased in price, most saw about a 4% jump, while passes for children ages 4 and younger saw decreases in price.
