Lee In Third Place After Day One Of 2021 Gulf South Outdoor Track Championships Friday, April 30, 2021 he Lee University men’s track & field team positioned five runners in the top eight of the 10000-meter run to grab a third place standing following the first day of the 2021 Gulf South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Flames accumulated 36.5 points in four scored events with 22 coming from the 10K and 14.5 from the high jump. Alabama Huntsville garnered 49 of its 69 points from the discus and hammer throws. Mississippi College is in second with 39.5 points. In the 10K, Caleb Eagleson was the first Flame to cross the finish line. He was second overall with a time of 31:03.47. Silas Eckenroad (31:09.45) and Will Stone (31:11.72) finished third and fourth, respectively, to give Lee three runners in the top four. Lange, Lenox And Higginbotham Receive Servant Leadership Award At Lee Tuesday, January 26, 2021 Dr. JoAnn Higginbotham At a Lee University chapel service, students Kat Lange and Teagan Lenox were presented with the 2020 Dr. Charles W. Conn Servant Leadership Award, and Dr. JoAnn Higginbotham received the Dr. Charles W. Conn Service Learning Faculty Award. The Dr. Charles W. Conn Servant Leadership Scholarship was established in 2003 to honor President Emeritus Charles W. Conn. He served as Lee’s president from 1970 to 1982, and his tenure was marked by a spirit of servant leadership. As part of the university’s efforts to emphasize the importance of serving others, the award is given annually to rising seniors who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to service during their time at Lee. Students who receive this scholarship give a portion of the proceeds to a charity of their choice. ....
