this massive storm hitting the mid-atlantic region and moving up the east coast. as you can see the worst is now essentially hitting new jersey and moving out away from the d.c. area. winds have been pretty heavy but the area in pink and green, that is some of the roughest area, a lot of it off the coast. they are expecting perhaps up to 8 to 12 inches of snow in new york. we have 6 or 7 in d.c. and it's still coming down. we will keep everybody posted on the developments related to this massive system. the countdown is almost over. in just two days vancouver and the world will celebrate the start of the winter olympic games but it will be a tough two days for fans of team usa alpine skiing star lindsey vonn, called the greatest female skier in the world, and she's favored for the gold perhaps in five different events. vonn told today's matt lauer, that she may be sidelined by a last-minute injury.
