Voters decided between three candidates for the office number 1 seat on the Western Technology Center Board of Education on Tuesday.
Incumbent Ray Challis gained just over 51% of the vote to retain his seat. He was challenged by Eugene Jefferson who obtained 26% of the vote and Dennis H. Baxter who garnered 21% approval.
In other election news, it was announced that a special election for Beckham County voters who reside in the Canute School District will be held on Tuesday March 2 to vote for two propositions for school and transportation improvements. However, only early voting will be available as the school district opted to close the one polling place in Beckham County with affected voters. Early Voting will take place at the Beckham County Activity Center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, February 25th and 26 ....
