Dispute over "woke science" risks damage to U.K. science
The science secretary demanded closure of a UK Research and Innovation inequality committee due to “the sharing of extremist views on social media” by members who she said “expressed sympathy” for Hamas. University leaders in the United Kingdom have been warned that the growing schism between UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Westminster government over equality issues could cause major damage to U.K. science unless an understanding on research culture is reached.
