University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College Chancellor Summer DeProw's former life as a decorated horseman may seem far afield from her roles in higher education leadership.
As Summer DeProw shook the hands of University of Arkansas System trustees after they unanimously approved her as the next chancellor of the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College on Wednesday, she was visibly emotional, because she couldn't help but think about her parents -- especially her father -- in that moment.
The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas voted unanimously Wednesday to hire Summer DeProw as the next chancellor of the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College.
DeProw, who currently serves as provost/vice chancellor for academic and student affairs, is expected to begin her new role on Jan. 1.
If selected as the new chancellor at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College, "I promise I will not stop learning, I'll ask a lot of questions -- I'll always ask, 'Why' -- and if I tell you, 'No,' I'll tell you why," vowed Summer DeProw, one of three finalists for the chancellor position.
