Halfway through the operations, and having anaesthetised four of the women, Dr Bhalavi asked colleagues to make him a cup of tea - and stormed out when they returned without one.
When the doctor's tea request went unheeded, he walked out of the operation theatre, leaving the rest of the scheduled operations incomplete.
Nagpur Zilla Parishad's CEO Soumya Sharma said that a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the case. .
The incident unfolded at the Primary Health Center in Khat village, located in the Mauda tehsil of Nagpur district.
