Vodafone to open O-RAN test and integration lab Vodafone is to open an O-RAN test and integration lab at its Newbury HQ. Initially it will employ 30 engineers. Vodafone has taken a lead in O-RAN with trials in several European countries and establishing the UK’s first O-RAN site in Wales. A British taskforce has called for targets for the amount of telecoms kit to be sourced from new vendors or through open architecture to boost the range of 5G suppliers after Britain's ban on Huawei.
