Murfreesboro, TN - Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) has issued a cautionary notice for motorists in Murfreesboro, urging them to exercise caution starting Monday, March 4, with potential ongoing impacts until Friday, March 15. This advisory comes as MTE's contractors, Burford Tree, undertake tree trimming activities in the Right-of-Way on the southbound lane of Thompson Lane, stretching from Siegel Road to Northwest Broad Street.

(MURFREESBORO) The Murfreesboro City Council voted Thursday (2/8/2024) to approve the Community Investment Trust funding of qualified charitable organizations in FY25. $364,950, the amount available for distribution under the Trust agreement in FY25, will be distributed to twenty-nine (29) charitable organizations.

Standstill Traffic on S. Church St. Lasted for Hours in Murfreesboro Monday - Wrecked Vehicle Cleared by 7 PM

MURFREESBORO, TN - Two Northbound lanes of S. Church Street from Veterans Pkwy to the Innsebrooke Kroger store had to be closed because of an injury accident. In the wreck, a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole at 2:01 PM. Middle Tennessee Electric workers arrived on the scene and worked hard to put the electric lines back in place, after the truck slammed into one of the poles. Crews had to close the roadway to traffic from around 2 PM to almost 7 PM.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Two Northbound lanes of S. Church Street from Veterans Pkwy to the Innsebrooke Kroger store are closed because of an injury accident where a pickup crashed into a utility pole at 2:01 p.m. Middle Tennessee Electric workers estimate they will be working until 7 or 8 p.m. installing a new pole.
Afterwards, traffic in both directions will shut down again to run electrical lines across the street. Police are asking drivers to find an alternate route.
