BOSTON (AP) — Three of the biggest airports in New England are slated to make improvements to control towers, gates and mechanical systems under a nearly $1 billion federal plan
Tulsa International Airport is being awarded an additional $12.5 million toward a new air traffic control tower project following an FAA announcement on Thursday.
Two years after the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, approximately $492 billion of the allocated $1.2 trillion remains to be spent on various U.S. infrastructure projects by 2026.
From the editorial: "Duluth’s present air traffic control tower is over 70 years old, the third-oldest in the nation. ... 'The time for improvements is done. It needs replacing'."
The new terminal will bring the airport into compliance with current Federal Aviation Administration standards.
