FOXNEWS Americas Newsroom With Bill Hemmer Dana Perino December 22, 2021 14:07:00

Clinical purposes. testing is really a fundamental tool for our public health response. routine regular repetitive testing which i ve advocated in schools k-12 twice a week where students can go to school, they can stay in school and twice a week they get tested. those students that are not infected stay in school, those students that are infected we find the silent epidemic, pull it out of the school and move forward with schools that do have a case with what we call test and stay rather than sending people home. this is going to require significant testing capability. unfortunately, as we sfwer enter the third year of this pandemic our nation hasn t developed the partnerships required to give our nation the testing we need. i was encouraged by the president saying and highlighting testing is a need now. i hope they address this with a high degree of urgency and get the testing not to how many tests we can give out, 500 ....

What should i do? if you re not boosted, get boosted. is that your advice? absolutely, chris. there is no doubt about that. the data are overwhelmingly strong in that direction. no doubt about it. there are two other things to consider here. one is testing. there is reporting today that the white house is a little concerned about testing capacity. i have already started to see anecdotally that we have higher transmission here in new york city, longer lines for testing. it is very hard to catch up to exponential threads with the linear systems of human markets and institutions as we have seen time and time again with this. are you concerned and prepared to handle the kind of testing search in a world where we have half 1 million cases a day? yes. we absolutely are revving up dramatically the testing capability. ....

Properly. is our testing regimen ready for omicron in the united states? thanks for having me. a lot happened this past week and a lot to catch up on but one of the critical components in getting in front of outbreaks such as the sars-cov-2 is our testing capability. last year, it was dismal. i would give some kudos to the united states. we have, in the u.s., increased our testing surveillance from about 21% to less than 1% to 10%. however, it s not equally distributed across the country, not reaching all pockets of our country that we need to reach. there s still a lot of blind spots, still tests unavailable in many places and the cost of these tests are too expensive. so our government needs to do much more to get testing in the hands of more people at an affordable cost and couple the testing with genomic ....

FOXNEWS America Reports With John Roberts Sandra Smith November 26, 2021 19:42:00

It has to appear that they are decisive and timely and i have to tell you, one level of concern on that, why is it being put in place monday? if you decide you want to travel ban, you should do it now. why have some fights over the weekend? all it takes is just a couple of cases administers to spread. another point i want to make is what about central america? i checked and there s plenty of flight going from you hand is burnt to central america and we talked about the southern border so you ve got to watch out for flights from south africa to other places and then on into the united states. that s what happen at the beginning of the pandemic. we have the testing capability now, we ve got to get it in place and use it. i m very happy with the idea that it s not here yet, that keeps us ahead of the curve in figuring out how contagious it is and to what extent it deludes ....

Out of class and back at home. what do you think of this as a pediatrician? do you think it s a smart strategy? do we have the testing capability? well, i think it s an extra layer of support. but it s a third-tier strategy. by that, i mean if we re serious about getting kids through in-person classes, we have to have everybody in the school vaccinated, everybody masked, and certainly for the middle schools and high schools that is possible, although we ve got a lot of unfortunately elected leaders who are fighting back on that. hopefully later on in this month we ll get more information about pediatric vaccines for 5 to 11-year-olds. that will be the most important thing, vaccinations and masks. i think routine testing will provide an extra layer of protection and is warranted. thank you, dr. hotez. good to see you. good to see you. a big day on the ....
