LGC rounds up the latest appointments and departures in local government Southwark LBC chief executive Eleanor Kelly has joined the government and NHS national vaccinations team in a senior role that will involve coordinating the local government response. Paul Martin, the chief executive of both Wandsworth and Richmond upon Thames LBCs, is set to become the interim chief for the government of Jersey. Mr Martin is to join Jersey on 12 month fixed term contract in March to replace outgoing chief Charlie Parker, also a former London borough chief executive, who is retiring after three years in the role. Mr Martin has worked in local government and the UK Civil Service for more than 38 years, the last 22 years of which have been in chief executive roles. He has headed up Wandsworth since 2010 and Richmond upon Thames since 2016. Mr Martin first announced he was standing down from his joint chief role last February saying it was the “right time” for someone new to take the councils through their next stage of development.
