Tens of thousands of Kaiser Permanente employees plan to strike as time runs short to reach contract agreements with the healthcare giant.
Unless a new deal is reached, it could be the largest ever health care worker strike in the country. The unions want better staffing and raises up to 7%.
“We are understaffed, overworked, and stretched so thin during our shifts,” said Lori Pimentel, an operating room scheduler for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California.
