UPDATE! Looks like The Red Barn State Street location will be open today (Thursday, Feb 25th from 10-2 for chicken snacks only. It is to benefit the Varney Family from Turner. If you call before 9am to order and pay according to their Facebook post it will be delivered to your car by Laura.

Looks like The Red Barn take-out location on State Street in Augusta is SOOOOOOOO close to being open. The signs are up, the flags are up, the flow is established, and I have seen a lot of people there getting ready to open for business on March 1.

Thanks to New York-based software engineer Nick Sawhney, you can now put Bernie Sanders (in all his inauguration glory) basically anywhere. In front of your house, in front of the Maine State House, at Fort Knox, in front of your favorite Dunkin' location, wherever!
Nick created the Bernie Sits website.
All you have to do is enter a street address and the site, thanks to Google Street View, overlays a picture of Bernie Sanders from the Biden / Harris inauguration at that location.
In his bio, Nick explains:
I'm a 22 year-old grad student at NYU pursuing an MS in computer science. I like biking in the city, playing the piano, and drinking cold brew. Early in college, I discovered that I have a passion for studying the city through big data, which introduced me to the wide world of data science and software engineering. According to a post on the well-known Central Maine restaurant's Facebook page, there is a scam going around involving $100 gift certificates to the Red Barn in Augusta.
While the post does not got into much detail, it appears it involves someone on Facebook reaching out to a stranger. According to the post, the person involved is asking people to accept a Facebook friend request first.
In the post, owner Laura Benedict says:
There is a scam going on for $100 gift certificates to Red Barn. They are wanting you to accept the friend request first. This is NOT me..please spread the word!
