Three Westport High students qualify for state DECA competition

WESTPORT Interim Superintendent Thomas F. Aubin is pleased to announce that several students in the Westport High School DECA program competed in the 2021 district competition this month, competition officials announced.
DECA is a high school business and marketing organization that prepares young leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Four Westport High School DECA students competed in the district competition which was held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic against more than 400 students from local area high schools.
Three of the students qualified for the upcoming DECA state competition, which will be held from March 1-18. They achieved this by finishing in the top seven in their chosen category.
