Madison Trust for Historic Preservation is launching a new set of eight walking tours Thursday, including ones of the Greenbush neighborhood, Maple Bluff and the UW-Madison agricultural campus.
The first flooding in the Vale Creek was recorded in October 1814, and it would be a continuing saga, Alan McRae writes in this week's Yesterday, Today column.
“It was probably one of the oldest and most remarkable white oaks in the city, probably the county,” said the arborist who had monitored the tree for 50 years.
