This has been a problem in the united states and energy prices in europe as well for some time. that problem is only going to get worse for a while. the political leaders were trying to spare their own constituents from that pain. no longer. not in this situation. there's further steps it can go and we will see if ultimately the entire russian oil and gas export sector gets shut down by western alliances. we're not there yet, but this is a dramatic ratcheting up of the pressure on russia to try to get them to deter what they're doing in ukraine. >> deterrable to this point. john harwood, thank...
