Neptune Energy Norge, operator of production licence PL 938, has completed the drilling of wildcat well 6407/8-8 S. The well, which was drilled about 14 kms northwest of the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea, encountered oil and gas in the Garn formation, which was the primary target. The preliminary calculation of the size of the discovery is between 1.0 and 3.5 million Sm3 of recoverable oil equivalent.
Aker BP, operator of production licence PL 261, has concluded the drilling of wildcat well 6507/2-6. The well, which was drilled about 7 kms west of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea, encountered gas in several geological formations. The preliminary estimate of recoverable gas volume is between 25 and 80 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe).
