The thing that gives me a bit of solace as I mourn Tim Marcum is that I hold his passing with high importance.

The Arena Football League lost a true legend of the game and a fantastic man on Thursday, December 5th, as Tim Marcum passed away at the age of 68. Countless numbers were touched by what Coach Marcum did both on the field and off the field, and here at ArenaFan, we reached out to as many as we could find to help us all remember the life and times of the greatest coach that ever there ever was in the AFL.

The league closed up shop on the New Orleans VooDoo and Las Vegas Outlaws, sending tremors through the league and changed the fortunes for one team that had been eliminated from the 2015 playoffs. The Portland Thunder were awarded the fourth seed in the National Conference after the Arena Football League Board of Directors voted to cease operations in Sin City.

On Tuesday night, fellow AFL Tonight-er, Tim Capper and I sat down and had a tremendous interview with the Vice President of the AFL Players Union (AFLPU), Steve Watson. It was the first time that we have heard from a member of the PU on the record about the possibility of a strike, and after that 25 minutes, it became clear to this writer that the league and its players are at an impasse that probably isn't going to be fixed in a matter of the next 48 hours.

On Tuesday, March 6th, Tim Cappers and Adam Markowitz sat down with the Vice President of the newly formed Arena Football League Player's Union (AFLPU) to discuss the prospects of a strike for the upcoming 2012 season. Below is the transcript from the interview.
