The Capital Times, a local Wisconsin newspaper, suggested that Libs of TikTok was to blame for “safety concerns” over a high school canceling an upcoming drag show event.
The event has been put on pause, as Madison Metropolitan School District officials cite safety as a top concern.
The Madison school district lost 42 substitutes due to resignations or terminations in November 2022. There are also 100 permanent teaching positions that are vacant.
Beth Steffen was hit by a car while walking on South Syene Road in Fitchburg, according to police. She previously worked in MMSD for 17 years.
Lt. Andrew McCarthy said the incident took place on S. Syene Rd. between McCoy Rd. and Ninebark Dr. around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
