Out of this pause for an fbi investigation is what i was speaking about on the floor earlier today, which is the message to the thousands of survivors of sexual assault who have come forward to my office, to many other offices, to tip lines across the country or to speak to family or friends for the first time that we will enter a new phase in our country in terms of our willingness in to hear and to respond to allegations. i know there has been a lot of fighting this week about whether the process was fair to judge kavanaugh, whether the investigation was serious and thorough, and whether dr....

>> from my experience is the fbi is looking into something and the public knows the fbi is looking into it, first of all they put up tip lines. second of all if someone shows up at the office or calls they may listen to them. they may find it's not credible and never do any follow-up, but from my experience they will hear them out and see if there's anything to follow-up. the reason so many of these people are coming forward and writing articles and speaking to the press, the op-ed today with his roommates, kavanaugh's roommates or drinking buddies saying, you know, he can't say he didn't drin...

Follow leads and do what it does best. here they were literally turning away witnesses that showed up at the offices. the fbi does not normally do that. >> what would normally happen? because all these yale roommates and yale friends of brett kavanaugh were struggling all around the country actually to try to get their stories to the fbi. and they had sworn statements that some of them tried to physically bring to the fbi. what would the normal resetativity of that be at an fbi office? >> from nigh experience is the fbi is looking into something and the public knows the fbi is looking into it,...

And cnn's evan perez. you have new reporting on what went into this investigation. >> the senators are now in this secure room, reading the documents. there are over 1,000 pages included in the documents. the fbi ended up including information that was unilater unilaterally brought in through tip lines and people calling and people who are sending stuff online. the question is, what is in that information. was the fbi able to corroborate any of it? if it was the tip line, it was information they did not get to. they did not do interviews with the people. it will be interesting to see what they...
