Cutthroat have steadily rebounded in the lake following the Park Service’s nearly two decades of lake trout gillnetting, with intensive focus on netting dating back to 2012.
Fishing access is only currently allowed in all areas of the park from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through Oct. 31 each year.
Beginning Nov. 1, 2024, Yellowstone National Park will expand fishing access by allowing for year-round fishing opportunities at two locations in the park.
