A substance abuse treatment seminar was held on Wednesday at the Porter County Sheriff's Department to provide an explanation of substance abuse and available treatment.

Smith Mountain Lake's 10th annual Pirate Days was held over the weekend. Crazy Horse Marina in Moneta hosted much of the days festivities on Saturday with live pirate reenactors as well as water cannon battles between boats in the marina.
