Cuba City Mayor Resigns
Mar 12, 2021 8:29 PM Cuba City will have a new mayor after Tom Gile announced he’d be stepping down from the post. His resignation is effective as of Thursday and cited personal reasons for vacating the seat. At this time, Cuba City Common Council President John Van de Wiel will serve as acting mayor. The council is scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss options going forward. They can appoint someone to fill the seat for the remainder of Gile’s term, have Van de Wiel continue to serve as acting mayor, or hold a special election.
