Joe “Crazy Legs” Pipp of Riverhead died on Feb. 17, 2021, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 84 years old. He was born on March 4, 1936, in Greenport to Zigmund Pipczynski and Monica Miezianka. STALEMATE: Lake Area Fire Chief Goes To Court To Fix Dysfunctional District

SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. — A Lake of the Ozarks area fire district needs help putting out a major fire in the district board, which has hit a stalemate due to conflicts between the two board members. Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District (SBFPD) Fire Chief Joseph LaPlant is asking the Camden County Circuit Court to accept one of the district's board member's recent statements as grounds for removing that board member.
