First Parish Church celebrates BLM banner anniversary First Parish Church of Stow & Acton On Feb. 14, 2016, First Parish Church of Stow & Acton raised its Black Lives Matter banner. The vote to do so had passed by an overwhelming majority after over a year of discussion and activity on racial justice and equality undertaken by both the church’s Racial Justice Task Group and then-minister the Rev. Tom Rosiello. A special vespers service will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 (rescheduled from Feb. 16) to honor the fifth anniversary of FPC’s display of its Black Lives Matter banner and its continuing commitment to racial justice. Maynard and Stow church briefs, Jan. 28-Feb. 3 Community Content ‘Deeper Than the Skin’ A musical presentation on race in America titled Deeper Than the Skin will be presented by musicians Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway. As longtime friends Reggie and Greg reach across the racial divide, they encourage others to foster the relationships that are, in the end, a path to healing. Selma civil rights activist Rev. Gordon Gibson, author of Southern Witness, said “‘Deeper Than the Skin’ is an absolutely amazing experience. Not a performance (although these are two fine performers) but an experience. If you are anywhere within reach of this, don’t miss it.” ....
