Police say an interstate highway in Illinois has reopened following a windstorm that kicked up blinding dust from fields and caused crashes that killed at least six people and injured dozens more

The late morning crashes involved 40 to 60 cars and multiple tractor-trailers, two of which caught fire, Illinois State Police Maj. Ryan Starrick said.
The crashes, which involved between 40 and 60 cars and multiple trucks, were caused by wind blowing dirt off nearby farms, "leading to zero visibility", police say.
"The cause of the crash is due to excessive winds blowing dirt from farm fields across the highway leading to zero visibility," Illinois State Police Maj. Ryan Starrick said.
