There is a depth and delicacy to actress Lisa Dwan’s work, so potent it is translatable on low-vis phone screens. Like many, I have been watching Dwan in films and on television for years, and have been bewitched by her craft; one that spans playing an Irish drug lord in Netflix’s gritty, drug-centric Top Boy to her extensive work on some of the crueller, more difficult works of Samuel Beckett. In roles that could easily be mistreated, Dwan exhibits an arresting reserve, a quality of silence that translates with equal power to her screen performances.
