Mayor Eric Garcetti provided recorded opening remarks reaffirming that shade is an equity issue and highlighting how trees are the centerpiece of our vision for a green and just Los Angeles.

One Million Trees Movement launched in Tuguegarao City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Tuguegarao One Million Trees Movement was launched here last April 22 to encourage residents and environmental advocates to restore this city’s natural state and counter the effects of climate change through the planting and growing of one million trees in the next three years.
The movement, a joint project of the Tuguegarao city government, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Cagayan State University, the Schools Division of Tuguegarao City, and proponent Northern Natural Resource Conservation Inc., was launched at the first ever Tree Summit in celebration of World Earth Day. ....
