A Boonville man is facing felony charges after an alleged incident on May 31, 2020. Derek Allen Bruce is accused of threatening a man with a hammer during an altercation at Lucky’s Eagle Stop. Bruce also allegedly spat in another persons face during the dispute. Bruce is charged with two counts of a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and a misdemeanor for assault in the fourth degree. A 31-year-old Odessa man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in October. According to a probable-cause statement, on October 21, 2020, a law-enforcement officer located a THC pen; a loaded clear glass pipe that later tested positive for methamphetamine; 45 clonazepam and seven oxycodone pills; a small digital scale; and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun when they searched the vehicle. Following a traffic stop on August 16, a drug-related felony charge has been filed against a 50-year-old Independence woman. According to a Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputy’s report, he located multiple drug-related items inside the vehicle- including multiple baggies of methamphetamine, as well as digital scales and other drug-related items.
