Majority of sub-roads were closed and police took control of the major roads in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram districts as part of efforts to arrest the massive spread of the virus infection.
Only essential services people and those travelling for meeting emergency needs were allowed to move out in all the four districts.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has on Friday decided to extend the ongoing lockdown till May 23. The decision comes in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in the state. On Friday, Kerala logged 34,694 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the overall tally to 20,55,528 while 93 deaths pushed the toll to 6,243.
"The positivity rate remains high, so the state government has decided to extend the present complete lockdown in Kerala till May 23rd," Pinarayi Vijayan said. The Czech Republic is a favorite destination of beer history fans, thanks to its role as the home of both the first pilsner and the original Budweisers, which later lent their name to the brand from St. Louis. Beyond that historical importance, the central European country of 10 million inhabitants is also famous for its big contemporary achievement: drinking the world’s largest amount of beer per capita, a rank it has held every year for the past 28 years. With hundreds of charismatic pubs, great beer festivals and atmospheric old breweries like U Fleků, founded in 1499, the Czech Republic’s stunning capital of Prague has long been on the bucket list for beer travelers everywhere.
