Visitors of the Troublesome Stories exhibit look at the photography of Thomas Cooper, a photojournalist who captured the East Troublesome Fire. Cooper s work is featured prominently at the exhibit and prints can be purchased with 20% of the proceeds going to a recovery fund. The exhibit, called Troublesome Stores: Art & Artifacts From The East Troublesome Fire, will include 40 powerful images of the fire alongside text of residentsâ stories and artifacts recovered from the ashes. The East Troublesome Fire blew up in size on Oct. 21, 2020 and winds pushed the flames at a breakneck speed â about 6,000 acres per hour â across the landscape, giving most Grand Lake residents a mere 12 minutes to evacuate.
