Maryville Mayor Craig Short was joined May 10 by local officials and Pickleball enthusiasts for a ribbon cutting at the new Maryville pickleball courts.
MARYVILLE The two new Pickleball courts at Drost Park in Maryville were officially opened with a ribbon cutting, hosted by the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce on May 10.
Maryville Mayor Craig Short, Trustee Julie Clark, Superintendent Matt Hoffman, Parks and Rec Committee Chair Sharon Petty and members Bob Hunter, Andrea Molkenbur, Mike Spillers, Tom Fitzgerald, Peg Raffety, Colleen Seiffert plus numerous Pickleball enthusiasts were present to celebrate the event. ....

MARYVILLE Dozens of garage sales are planned May 6-8 and May 14-15 in an event sponsored by the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce.
Sales are planned May 6-8 in St. Jacob and May 13-15 in Marine and Troy. Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

MARYVILLE The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce on March 4 delivered 1,100 “Healthcare Kindness Day” bags to Anderson Hospital.
“Our healthcare workers were working hard every single day but, in March of 2020, they were asked to not only work harder but put themselves at risk of COVID,” said Chamber Executive Director Dawn Mushill. “Every one of them has had a very trying 10 months and they are still dealing with so much. So we created a holiday for them.”
Mushill said the idea came from a Chamber board meeting. The bags have been in progress for a couple of months. Each bag contained gift certificates, treats, a kindness jar (with over a dozen kindness sayings that they can take “as needed”), a handwritten thank you note, a scratch off ticket for a free item at a local restaurant and a flyer telling the story of Healthcare Kindness Day. ....
