"I've always wanted to play and I've watched all my cousins, dad and brother play growing up," Mitchell said. "I've always been around the touch footy and oztag scene so I just thought why not give it a go." She said her first year in the sport was amazing. "It was a new team so there was a lot of girls that were new to it, so that was good for me so I didn't feel so left out," Mitchell said. "And we actually went on to win the comp so it was a pretty amazing year." She said the squad was looking forward to getting on the field.
