SPRING VALLEY — Jesse Robles was appointed Dec. 8 to fill a vacant seat on the board of the San Miguel Consolidated Fire District, the county’s largest fire district. Robles was one of two people who applied to represent Area 6, the part of East County that covers La Presa and Spring Valley. There were no candidates who filed to run for the seat on the November ballot so the district put out the word to the community that it was soliciting interested persons for that position.
