A senior Kashmiri separatist leader and political prisoner, Mr Sehrai was only taken to hospital under police custody when he became very ill. He died of pneumonia the next day, 6 May. ....
Sacrifices galore as Kashmiris remember Mirwaiz, Lone Islamabad May 23, 2021 Tens of thousands of people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their family members for spearheading the struggle for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. The sacrifices range from ordinary citizens to Hurriyat stalwarts but Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone are head and shoulders above many whose sacrifices could never be forgotten. Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was shot dead by unidentified gunmen who barged into his house in Srinagar on 21st May in 1990. Seventy mourners were killed when Indian troops fired at his funeral procession in Hawal area of the city. Twelve years later, on the same day in 2002, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was martyred by unknown attackers, when he was returning home after addressing a gathering held at Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar. ....

Sheikh Danish reports from Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir Srinagar, May 17: Authorities on Monday said that 72 inmates have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Udhampur jail. Superintendent of Udhampur Jail, Harish Kotwal told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that samples of inmates were collected yesterday and 72 out of 479 inmates tested positive for COVID-19. He added that the cases were detected through the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) test on Sunday. Kotwal added that precautionary measures have been taken in the jail already while the medicines and other related things are sufficiently available in jail. ....
