The first big winter storm of the season could be imminent. MétéoMédia is tracking two systems that it says could hit a high-pressure wall over Quebec, forcing them to slowly "drag" over the province and unload copious precipitation.

Not only does this mean mild weather is likely just around the corner, but it also means it should stick around for the long haul sooner than expected.
As if we weren't suffering enough from the bitter cold and semi-lockdown, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement as winter storm approaches Quebec. The system could dump as many as 25 cm of snow on parts of the province, including Montreal, through Monday, according to the federal weather agency. The Weather Network, meanwhile, says totals could reach 30 cm.
Don't pack away your light coat, rain boots and umbrellas just yet. You might unfortunately still need them if The Weather Network's Quebec winter weather forecast holds up. A national winter weather outlook released November 29 warns of "a stormy winter [...] broken up at times by extended periods of rather mild temperatures."
